Storia del Gran Premio

Gran Premio del Perdono was held for the first time in 1959 and it soon became a permanent fixture on Easter Monday each year.

Always considered a great Classic in the national cycling scene, this competition boasts a prestigious Roll of Honor, with athletes such as Luca Colombo, silver medalist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and World Champion in 1991 in Stuttgart in the team time trial. Over the time, the race route has been changed, but has always maintained its roots in this territory and an indissoluble bond with "Perdono": Forgiveness.

Unfortunately, following the cessation of Pedale Melegnanese activity in 2001, this competition was no longer organised and the last edition (number 41) dates back to the year 2000, before the rebirth of 2023.

From 2024 the Grand Prix of Forgiveness will become an international competition, the first in chronological order in the UCI calendar in Italy for the Junior category. And it will see the best talents on the European stage compete.
